ALWAR: Police here on Tuesday arrested Alwar BJP vice-president Rajendra Kasana for allegedly making inflammatory speeches while talking to the media after a dharna by party in Ramgarh on Monday.
Later, he was released on a bail bond of Rs 20,000 and the court banned him from making any statement for the next six months.
The arrest followed outrage among the BJP leaders in the district. BJP MLA Alwar city Sanjay Naruka reached Ramgarh police station and threatened to stage a sit-in until the leader is released.
The situation became ugly after the BJP party workers raised slogans to protest his arrest and exchanged heated arguments with the police.
Ramgarh DSP Kamal Prasad Meena said that Kasana was arrested under CrPC 151 and 108 and produced in the court where the court released him on bail bond. The report said that Kasana made an inflammatory speech against a particular community over the killing of one Chiranji Lal of Govindgarh. Lal was killed by the members of the Meo community over suspicion of theft.
