AHMEDABAD: A mango farmer from Talala in Gir-Somnath on Monday filed a complaint with Vastrapur police alleging that Rs 2.75 lakh was stolen from his car parked in an AMC-run parking plot near the Vastrapur lake on June 29.
Dilip Panelia, 55, a resident of Ankolwadi in Talala, said in his FIR that he along with other farmers used to come to the city to participate in the mango-selling event near the Vastrapur Haat, beside the Vastrapur lake.
Panelia said that he had on June 29 put Rs 2.75 lakh cash in a bag which he had kept in his car and then went to his stall at the event site. He said that when he returned to his car, he found that his bag comprising the money was stolen. Panelia said that he had then submitted a plea before police and later went to his native place. On Monday, a complaint of theft was registered with Vastrapur police.
