Coimbatore: The RS Puram all-woman police on Tuesday registered a case against a construction worker for raping a five-year-old girl on August 14.
A police officer identified the accused as Sasikumar, 40, of Tirupathur district. He was staying in a temporary shelter on a construction site near Kovaipudur. “Another construction worker was also staying there along with his wife and daughter. On August 14, Sasikumar took the minor girl to his room and raped her. Her parents saw her coming out of the room in tears. She revealed the incident to them, who didn’t approach police:”
