Mercedes-Benz today launched the top-end all-electric luxury electric saloon, the Mercedes-AMG EQS 53 4Matic+ at a price point of Rs 2.45 crore onwards (ex-showroom). The Mercedes-AMG EQS 53 4MATIC+ will be available as a Completely Built Unit (CBU) with a service warranty of 2 years/30,000 km and a battery warranty of 10 years/2,50,000 km.
The Mercedes-AMG EQS 53 4MATIC+ is the longest range EV in India, with a claimed range of 529 - 586 km as per the WLTP cycle. The brand is offering a service package (compact package) at a price of Rs 1,15,000 and Advance Assurance package at Rs 2,50,000 with the new Mercedes-AMG EQS 53 4Matic+.
Mercedes-Benz has confirmed that the locally assembled EQS 580 will be launched in India next month.

The AMG EQS 53 4MATIC+ features a sleek coupe silhouette that is complemented by a blacked-out paint job. It will feature all LED lighting with a DRL that stretches from one end to the other. Being an EV the EQS will also sport a unique design for the grille area with a large Mercedes-Benz logo in the centre and chrome inserts. At the rear, the AMG EQS will again feature lighting elements stretching from one end to the other. The rear brake lights will also form a curved 3D helix. The all-electric saloon sits on 21-inch AMG aero-designed light-alloy wheels.

2022 Mercedes-Benz AMG EQS 53 4Matic+ interior
The 2022 EQS will also be the first Mercedes-Benz car in India to debut the 56-inch MBUX Hyperscreen that merges three separate OLED displays into one curved piece of Gorilla Glass and looks like it is floating over the dashboard. It is powered by 8 CPU cores and has 24 GB of RAM. It also features haptic feedback with the help of twelve actuators hidden under the touchscreen. The three displays integrated into the Hyperscreen measure 12.3-inch, 17.7-inch and 12.3-inch respectively.
2022 Mercedes-Benz AMG EQS 53 4Matic+ powertrain
Based on a performance-oriented drive concept, the 2022 Mercedes-AMG EQS 53 4Matic+ will feature a 108 kWh battery pack that powers the dual electric motor setup which puts out 761 hp of max power in Race Start mode with boost function and 1020 Nm of peak torque. The all-electric luxury saloon can sprint from 0 to 100 kmph in 3.4 seconds with 75% charged battery and can achieve a top speed of 250 kmph. It is available with the AMG Performance 4matic+ all-wheel drive system.
The electric sedan is available with four AMG Dynamics Select driving modes - Comfort, Sport, Sport+ and Individual. The Mercedes-AMG EQS 53 4Matic+ gets a 200 kW DC fast charging capability. The car can be charged from 10% to 80% in just 30 minutes with the use of a fast DC charger. The car gets paddle shifters for adjusting the level of recuperation for efficient energy recovery.

2022 Mercedes-AMG EQS 53 4MATIC+ rivals
Despite having no direct rivals in the Indian market yet, the high-performance Mercedes-AMG luxury electric sedan might face competition from the likes of Porsche Taycan as well as the Audi e-tron GT, considering the price point.
The Mercedes-AMG EQS 53 4MATIC+ is the first of the three new luxury EVs lined-up for the Indian market debut in 2022.
