LUCKNOW: Health services in the district hospitals of the state capital are set to be strengthened as they will be given medical equipment, including ventilators, from the temporary Covid-19 hospital of Haj House set up during the first wave of Covid-19.
The decision has been taken in view of a dip in Covid-19 cases. Because of almost negligible hospitalization, the equipment has been lying unused for a long time.
Out of the 25 ventilators with UPS at the Haj house, the highest five each will be given to Balrampur and Lokbandhu hospital, followed by four to SPM Civil hospital and three to RLB hospital. While two ventilators each will be given to Jhalkaribai, BRD and Ram Sagar Mishra and TB hospital.
The director general medical health Dr Lili Singh has written a letter to hospitals in this regard and informed them that they are required to take equipment within one week.
She said among other equipment lying in Haj House there are 50 each high flow nasal cannula, high flow nasal oxygen therapy, a multipara monitor stand with a display, 90 Bipap machines and 700 bedsheets.
"All will also be distributed to these hospitals as per requirement," said Dr Singh.
