A super yacht, 40 meters (131 feet) long, sank off the southern coast of Italy in the Ionian sea as onlookers watched. The Italian coast guard shared the footage of the incident, and you can see the white-coloured gigantic luxury boat sink stern first into the swallowing waters in Catanzaro Marina. The name of the beautiful boat "My Saga" seems quite ironic, as it is swallowed by seawater.

When the incident occurred, the boat was on its way to Milazzo from Gallipoli, and nine people had to be rescued. Brought nine five crew members and four passengers to safety before the boat sank by the Italian coast guard.

Authorities are still unclear about what caused the boat to sink, and investigations are still underway. Initially, the boat is seen floating in the video, and the sea is rough around it. Then the rear starts to dip into the sea, gradually sinks and quickly vanishes under the water.

Debt-laden Essar Group, controlled by billionaire brothers Shashikant and Ravikant Ruia, has sought to restructure loans and sell assets to ease pressure from lending banks.

The coast guard wrote on the video a statement which, when translated, reads that they rescued nine people from the 40 meters boat off the coast of Catanzaro Marina. The causes of the boat sinking are being investigated.

The boat had an aluminium superstructure, a deck made of teak wood, and a steel hull. The superyacht had six cabins, and the maximum number of people that could be accommodated, including crew members, was 20.

The boat is described as a super yacht in the luxury boat magazine "Boat International" and has been designed by Tim Heywood Design.
