Cattle thief arrested

Mangaluru: The CCB police arrested a person involved in several cattle theft cases in various police stations of the city and district.
The accused is Abdul Kabir alias Parivala Kabir,35, from Bengre. He has been absconding and a warrant was issued against him. He is accused of preventing the police from performing their duties, by trying to assault them, when they went to arrest him. A case has been registered at the Panambur police station.
He has been booked in more than 15 cattle theft cases in Mangaluru South, Mangaluru North, Kankanady town, Ullal, Panambur and Bajpe police stations in Mangaluru city, and Uppinangady in Dakshina Kannada district. He has been absconding for the last seven months. He was produced before a court and remanded in judicial custody.
