PATNA: Deputy chief minister Tejashwi Prasad Yadav on Monday appealed to the youth and job aspirants to have some patience as appointments will be made soon following the standard operating procedure.
Addressing a press conference after the video went viral showing teacher aspirants getting mercilessly lathicharged by the police and the ADM (law & order) near Dak Bungalow roundabout in the morning, Tejashwi said "it was not right and it should not have happened".
Tejashwi said he talked to
Patna district magistrate and a committee has been formed to investigate the matter. "Action will be taken as per the report," he said, adding, "We are not like BJP people who remain busy in jumlabaazi; rather we are committed to fulfilling our promises."
He said CM Nitish Kumar has already announced 10 lakh jobs along with 10 lakh employment generation and all the departments have been instructed to start the procedure of filling the vacancies. "The Mahagathbandhan government has just been formed and it takes some time to implement any work. Appointments cannot be made in a day. There is an SOP to be followed. Kindly have patience and wait for some time," he said.
Meanwhile, Patna DM Chandrashekhar Singh wrote a letter to the DDC and city SP (central) to investigate into the police action during the protest on Monday and submit the report in two days. The DM wrote that the job aspirants were protesting near Dak Bungalow crossing and moving forward to submit a memorandum to the governor when they were stopped by the magistrate and police force deployed there.
"A video of an additional collector (law & order) and others beating a man holding a flag is going viral, which prima facie is extremely objectionable. This should be investigated seriously," the letter reads.
