Nagpur: In yet another major crackdown, a team of cyber cell of Nagpur city police arrested three Cameroonians in Delhi for allegedly creating a fake website of a reputed company to lure gullible persons.
The trio, identified as Raoul Amie Tchouanga, Tchakounte Jackson Saabto and Themnwi Robert Ngwa, all residents of Buea, Cameroon, was nabbed from a rented place in Mehrauli in Delhi in the wee hours of Sunday.
The city police on Monday produced the accused before the district court which remanded them in police custody for three days.
Police said on August 11, one Pritesh Ingle contacted the complainant Bhushan Sable on his mobile phone that he needed a refined sugar product “as mentioned in India Mart Business to Business, a marketing website”.
Sable refused stating that his company does not deal with these products. He then crossed-checked Ingle’s statement and found that his website has been hacked and linked to website of JK Solutions Private Limited showing the firm’s address in Dharampeth and with same GST number, said police.
Different medicines, injections, creams, refined sugar and other products were found to be available for sale on the website, which also mentioned Paul Hanson as the contact person with mobile phone number and email id.
Sable, a resident of Sonegaon, filed a complaint at Bajaj Nagar police station. Subsequently, the investigation was handed over to the cyber cell. A team led by senior PI Nitin Phatangare traced the fraudsters to Delhi.
