Puducherry chief minister N Rangasamy presented the budget on Monday.
PUDUCHERRY: The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) has welcomed the Puducherry state budget 2022-23 presented by chief minister N Rangasamy on Monday.
CII Puducherry chapter chairman S Sureender termed the budget as “growth-oriented.”
He welcomed the government's decision to establish a full-fledged online single window system under the ease of doing business.
He expressed optimism that the move would provide a big relief to the industries as it simplifies various approval processes that are presently followed manually.
"This will also attract new investors to Puducherry," he said.
The government proposed to establish e-vehicle charging stations in the town. The government's decision to encourage manufacturing of e-vehicles and vehicle batteries and to extend marketing assistance to the investors would promote environment-friendly commutation and create new business opportunities and employment generation. “The decision highlights Puducherry as a futuristic welfare state,” he said.
The proposed Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS) to provide an uninterrupted power supply will pave the way for future business expansion and further modernization.
The industrial body welcomed the decision to convert existing classrooms in the schools into smart classes to improve the quality of education, distribute laptops free of cost to Class XI and Class XII students and to establish a 'school education monitoring centre' to monitor the learning capacity of the students and teaching capacity of the faculty members.
It also welcomed the extension of the model career guidance centre in Karaikal, Mahe and Yanam, upgradation of women's ITI in Puducherry and the proposed extension of government ITI in Nettapakkam, T R Pattinam and Mahe and two other training centres in ITI Mettupalayam to bridge the skill gap between industries and institutions.
