VILLUPURAM: The mother of a Class XII girl student in a private school in Kallakurichi district of Tamil Nadu, who died under mysterious circumstances on the campus, has filed a petition before Villupuram chief judicial magistrate court seeking copies of the postmortem reports and postmortem videos.
The girl’s mother filed the petition before the Villupuram chief judicial magistrate M Pushparani on Monday. The doctors in Kallakurichi Government General Hospital performed two postmortems on the deceased student. The two procedures were videographed as the student’s parents and relatives had alleged a foul play in her
death. The reports and videos were submitted to the chief judicial magistrate.
The Madras high court on July 23 directed a team of forensic experts in Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (Jipmer) to analyse the two postmortem reports and submit their observations within a month. The Jipmer team, which received the reports and video footage on August 1, analysed them and submitted their observations to the chief judicial magistrate on Monday.
On the same evening, two friends of the deceased student appeared before the CJM and recorded their statements in a closed chamber.
Sources close to the student's family said the mother would undertake a padayatra from her village to Chennai and meet chief minister M K Stalin and urge him to ensure a fair probe into her daughter's death.
The Sakthi International School student was found dead under mysterious circumstances on the campus on July 13. Violence broke out on July 17 after messages were shared widely by several people in social media blaming the school management for her death.
