HYDERABAD: Several ministers, MLAs and other TRS leaders expressed their solidarity with MLC Kalvakuntla Kavitha on Tuesday. The leaders said the Centre was misusing all the investigating agencies against its opposition parties’ leaders and the day would come soon to revolt against the BJP government.
After some BJP leaders in Delhi alleged Kavitha’s role in framing liquor policy in Delhi, some BJYM and BJP leaders staged a dharna at Kavitha’s residence, TRS leaders thronged the former MP’s house on Tuesday. The leaders include minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav, Satyavathi Rathod, Koppula Eshwar, A Indrakaran Reddy, Vemula Prashant Reddy, MLAs Danam Nagender, Maganti Gopinath, Muta Gopal, Kaleru Venkatesh, Shakeel Ahmed, TSRTC chairman Bajireddy Govardhan, deputy mayor Srilatha Shobhan Reddy and several corporators met her. They condemned the bid on the MLC’s house.
“At a time, Telangana people celebrating the concluding ceremony of diamond jubilee celebrations of Independence Day, the BJP leaders and workers attacked the house including some BJP leaders. If TRS wants, it can also resort to such attacks on BJP leaders' houses and they should remember TRS strength in the city,” Talasani Srinivas Yadav said. He said TRS president K Chandrasekhar Rao does not believe in violence and we maintained restraint in the issue.
In a separate press meet, TSRTC chairman Bajireddy Govardhan Reddy said TRS leaders and KCR are not scared of false allegations and raids by Central government agencies. “The BJP government crossed all the limits and records in harassing the opposition parties leaders by using CBI, ED and IT agencies. The day is not far, people will teach lessons to the BJP,” Govardhan Reddy said.
