Constable’s obscene video goes viral; suspended

Kanpur: A head constable in Unnao was suspended by the superintendent of police (SP) after an obscene video of the former surfaced on the social media on Monday.
The head constable has been identified as Deep Singh. “An objectionable video of the head constable, posted in Bangarmau Kotwali of Unnao, with the woman went viral on social media on Monday,” the police said.
The SP suspended him on the basis of the video and handed over the investigation to the CO.
The video that went viral on the internet was shot about three years ago, the police said.
“It came to fore that the constable during his posting at Gangaghat police station, came in contact with the woman while resolving a dispute between the husband and wife,” the police further said.
On Monday, a video went viral showing the constable in an objectionable position with a woman. After an initial probe, SP Dinesh Tripathi suspended the constable with immediate effect.
“Police personnel should set an example of good conduct. Such acts are not acceptable under any circumstances. We suspended him after the initial investigation. Further investigation has been ordered in this case”, the SP said.
