Khunti man kills uncle, cousin & kin in sleep, held

Ranchi: Three persons were hacked to death by their relative at Chandidih village under Khunti police station area late on Sunday evening.
The deceased have been identified as Bitna Munda (65), his son Suda Munda (25), and distant relative Vikas Mahto (22). Police have arrested accused Hemant Purty (30) from the place of crime.
Khunti SDPO Amit Kumar, who visited the spot, said, “Purty had come to stay at his uncle Bitna’s house last Friday. After sowing paddy during the day, all four had dinner and drinks on Sunday night and went to sleep. Purty, however, got up in the middle of the night and attacked the three with a spade.”
Purty claimed during interrogation that Bitna was refusing to pay him Rs 3,000 which he had earned while working along with the victims in Odisha. The accused would be forwarded to jail, the SDPO added.
