Stock market update: Power stocks down as market falls

NEW DELHI: Power stocks were trading lower on Tuesday at 11:10AM

Karma Energy(up 3.77%), Energy Development Company(up 3.07%), Suzlon Energy(up 2.91%), DPSC(up 1.59%), NLC India(up 1.45%), Jaiprakash Power Ventures(up 1.31%), RTNPOWER(up 1.27%), Jyoti Structures(up 0.95%), JSW Energy(up 0.89%) and Tata Power Company(up 0.60%) were among the top gainers.

ADANIGREEN(down 6.30%), Adani Power(down 4.99%), Indowind Energy(down 4.79%), Adani Transmissions(down 4.05%), Reliance Power(down 2.56%), Indo Tech Transformers(down 1.62%), Hitachi Energy India(down 1.52%), PTC India(down 1.43%), CESC(down 1.33%) and Inox Wind Energy(down 1.05%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 74.3 points down at 17416.4, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was down 286.67 points at 58487.2 at around 11:10AM.

Eicher Motors(up 2.0%), Bajaj Finserv(up 1.84%), Mahindra & Mahindra(up 1.79%), Grasim Industries(up 1.53%), Cipla(up 1.52%), Hindalco Industries(up 1.46%), Tata Steel(up 1.33%), JSW Steel(up 0.83%), State Bank of India(up 0.8%) and Hero MotoCorp(up 0.76%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone(down 3.1%), Tech Mahindra(down 2.66%), Infosys(down 2.64%), Tata Consultancy(down 2.18%), Wipro(down 1.95%), HCL Technologies(down 1.68%), Divis Laboratories(down 1.09%), HDFC Bank(down 1.04%), Axis Bank(down 0.99%) and Tata Motors(down 0.89%) were trading in the red.
