Cops arrest 6 for robbery at showroom in Kalyan

KALYAN: The Bazarpeth police have arrested a customer and his five relatives for vandalising a showroom in Kalyan and robbing Rs 4,000 from the shop.
Police have booked eight people for dacoity, causing damage and voluntary causing hurt and have arrested six of them.
The arrested people are identified as Mufis Gangekar, Yusuf Gangekar, Aman Shaikh, Kaif, Jahir and Sahil, while hunt is on for two other accused.
The police said main accused Mufis hails from well-to-do family. Three days ago, he had bought a ladies dress of Rs 19,000 at Rangoli Saree showroom situated at Agra road in Kalyan (west) by making advance payment of Rs 4,000.
During purchase, he had given dress for alteration at shop, but on Sunday afternoon he come back at shop saying he does not want the dress and demanded his advance paid money to return back.
The staffer at shop denied to return back the advance payment saying due to their policy. Mufis threatened a staffer and manager asking them to give him advance money or else he will teach them a lesson.
Later, Mufis left the showroom and after sometime came back with some of his friends and relatives. They threatened the staff and started vandalising into shop.
The showroom manager said, "The accused were not listening and just started throwing dress and whatever they got into their hand and one of them forcefully took Rs 4,000 from cash counter and later left showroom."
He further said, "They even pushed to some of staffs and due to accused behaviour several customers who were inside showroom also got scared and left showroom".
The entire incident was captured into CCTV cameras installed into showroom and using same showroom owner Ketan Nandu lodge an FIR with Bazarpeth police station.
Narendra Patil, senior police inspector of Bazarpeth police station said, "On complaint of showroom owner we have booked eight accused and arrested six of them including a customer and further probe is on."
