Seer stresses need for preventive treatment

Dharwad: A strong physique, coupled with a spiritual mind, characterises a healthy individual, said Abhinava Gavisiddheshwar Swami, pontiff of the Koppal Sri Gavisiddheshwar Math in Dharwad on Sunday. The seer, who inaugurated the Unity Super Speciality Hospital on Maratha Colony Road in Dharwad, said, “When someone falls ill, the doctors take to curative treatment, but to remain healthy, preventive treatment is the key. This can be achieved only by keeping the body and mind clean, and healthy. We must also cultivate the ability to think, and act positively.”
Lauding the efforts of the doctors in setting up a state-of-the-art healthcare institution, the seer called on the medical practitioners to instil confidence in the patients. “By instilling confidence in patients, doctors can ensure they respond well to treatment. It has been proven that even words of comfort can help cure even terminally-ill patients after they have received necessary medical treatment,” Abhinava Swami said.
Chairman of the trust that has set up the hospital, Dr Jyothiprakash Sultanpuri said that the hospital housed a cardiac cath laboratory, neurosurgery unit, tertiary level critical care unit, among other advanced facilities. “Patients admitted to our hospital will be saved the need to leave the premises for any diagnostic test or procedure since all the necessary equipment and facilities are available right here. We will soon have a new building for the out-patient department, until which time, it will function out of the building housing Sai Furniture store, near KC Park,” Dr Sultanpuri said.
