Mysuru district police have received a complaint from a trader from T Narasipura claiming that jewellery, cash, and silver blocks, a total worth of Rs 1.67 crores has been burgled from his house on Sunday.
MYSURU: Mysuru district police have received a complaint from a trader from T Narasipura claiming that jewellery, cash, and silver blocks, a total worth of Rs 1.67 crores has been burgled from his house on Sunday.
OG Srinivas, the complaiant, and resident of PLD Bank raod, lodged a complaint with T Narasipura Town police on Monday that his house was burgled when he was away from home after locking the house on Sunday.
To attend a family function in Mysuru, Srinivas has left home with his family members around 9.30 am. He has locked the house . When he returned around 9 pm, the house was found ransacked with lockers being forcibly opened and jewellery were missing, the police said.
He had been keeping the pawned or mortgaged gold jewellery (about 2.2 kilos) at his home in a locker and nearly 12 kilos of silver blocks and a cash of Rs 30 lakh whixh are now missing. The house was completely ransacked, the cops said.
The incident may have happened between 9.30 am and 9 pm on August 21 and it came to light only when he returned. The burglars have entered home from rear door by breaking open it.
Superintendent of Police R Chethan confirmed TOI that a complaint has been registered with regard to theft of Rs 1.67 crores worth jewellery and cash from a home in T Narasipura and an investigation has been taken up.
