Gillette India(up 3.89%), Parag Milk(up 3.08%), Vadilal Industries(up 1.46%), Colgate Palmolive(India)(up 1.39%), TATA CONSUMER PRODUCTS(up 0.89%), Dodla Dairy(up 0.69%), Emami(up 0.61%), Britannia Industries(up 0.38%), JHS Svendgaard Laboratories(up 0.23%) and Tasty Bite Eatables(up 0.16%) stood among the top gainers.
Varun Beverages(down 6.92%), Dangee Dums(down 5.63%), Hatsun Agro Product Ltd(down 5.56%), Bajaj Consumer(down 3.91%), Umang Dairies(down 2.44%), Nakoda Group(down 2.35%), Godrej Consumer Products(down 2.04%), Heritage Foods(down 1.46%), Hindustan Foods(down 1.24%) and Zydus Wellness(down 0.83%) were among the top losers of the day.
The NSE Nifty50 index ended 267.75 points down at 17490.7, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed down 872.28 points at 58773.87.
TATA CONSUMER PRODUCTS(up 0.89%), ITC(up 0.77%), Coal India(up 0.53%), Britannia Industries(up 0.38%) and Nestle India(up 0.06%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.
On the other hand, Tata Steel(down 4.54%), Asian Paints(down 3.81%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone(down 3.62%), Tata Motors(down 3.48%), JSW Steel(down 3.25%), Divis Laboratories(down 3.13%), UPL Ltd(down 3.07%), Wipro(down 2.88%), Larsen & Toubro(down 2.86%) and Bajaj Finance(down 2.73%) closed in the red.
