6th accused held in Hamirpur girl stripping case

Kanpur: Police have arrested the sixth accused--Lakhan Khangar-- in connection with the Hamirpur incident, wherein a 20-year-old girl was assaulted and stripped in the city's forest area, on August 16.
Meanwhile, acting tough, the beat in-charge has been placed under suspension.
As per the confession of the accused, the incident had taken place in the city’s forest area on August 16.
Along with the five accused including two minors, who had already been arrested, the sixth accused Lakhan Khangar, who was also spotted in the video, was arrested on Saturday.
The police later sent him to jail in judicial custody.
However, the police as of now, could not be able to locate the victim.
As per the confession of the accused, the incident had taken place on August 16 when the girl had gone to a local forest area along with her boyfriend. They allegedly assaulted the duo, stripped the girl and made a video of blackmailing them. They later made it viral on social media.
So far, the police have arrested six accused in this case, and of them two are minors.
