Greater Noida: Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority (GNIDA) has planned to open a public library in the city.
Surendra Singh, the CEO of Greater Noida, has directed the department of planning to find a suitable location for it.
According to officials, the library will start operating out of an existing building. “We will develop the infrastructure and provide computers, internet, books, magazines and newspapers. The library may open in September,” an official said.
Residents said that there are several schools, colleges and academic institutions in Knowledge Park but there is no public library in the neighbourhood.
Alok Singh, a resident of Sector Alpha 1, said, “The decision will be beneficial for all age groups of the society. But the library should be at a peaceful location so that students and other people can use it properly.”
The CEO of Greater Noida was not available to give a comment on the matter.
