
NSCN-IM has said that its national assembly has resolved that NSCN attaches great importance to the Naga National Flag and Constitution (Yehzabo) as part of the Naga political solution and under no circumstances can forego these core issues that symbolizes the Naga National identity.
NSCN-IM stated, “Time and again the National Socialist Council of Nagalim (NSCN) has taken the resolute stand that it shall never deviate from the Naga National Principle at any cost and uphold and protect the Naga unique history. Significantly, NSCN attached great importance to the Naga National Flag and Constitution (Yehzabo) as part of the Naga political solution. Thus, NSCN, under no circumstances can forgo these core issues that symbolized the Naga National identity.”
There are differences on separate flags and the Constitution. The 25-year-old long peace talks are caught in stalemate. On August 14 to mark the Naga independence day Naga national flag was hoisted in different areas of Nagaland and Manipur.
Recently Government of India’s representative for Naga political talks, AK Mishra held talks with Naga political groups.
There was a deadlock as NSCN-IM had refused to sit in talks with then interlocutor and Nagaland governor RN Ravi. Ravi later moved in as Governor of Tamil Nadu.
There is a stalemate between the government of India and NSCN-IM over the contentious issue of separate flag and constitution. NSCN-IM has been demanding a separate flag and Constitution which the government of India had rejected.
