Uttar Pradesh: Woman found murdered in trans-Yamuna

PRAYAGRAJ: Unidentified assailants slashed the throat of a 23-year-old woman while she was asleep at her home in Badokhar village under Koraon police station of trans-Yamuna area on Friday night. The woman’s body was found in her room on Saturday morning lying in a pool of blood.
The 18-month-old daughter of the deceased who was asleep next to her, was found safe. The body of the woman has been sent for autopsy and further investigations were on into the incident.
According to reports, the deceased, Shabana Begum aka Shabbo, 23, hailed from Mirzapur district and was married to Naushad Ali of Badokhar over two years back. Naushad works in Mumbai while Shabana was living with her daughter. On Friday night Shabana was asleep with her daughter in the courtyard of the house.
The sister-in-law of the deceased too was in the house. When she woke up on Saturday morning, she found Shabana lying in a pool of blood with her throat slashed with a sharp-edged weapon.
SHO Koraon Dhirendra Singh reached the spot on receiving information. SP trans-Yamuna Saurabh Dixit also reached the village with a dog squad and forensic experts for investigations.
Dixit said the body has been sent for autopsy and samples have been collected from the crime scene. “The infant daughter of the woman is safe and has no injuries. FIR will be lodged after receiving a complaint from the woman’s kin. Investigations are on with all possible angles under scanner,” he added.
