HYDERABAD: CPI has extended its support to TRS in the upcoming Munugode byelection. CPI assistant secretary Palla Venkat Reddy participated in TRS president and chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao's public meeting in Munugode assembly constituency on Saturday.
Reddy, said the party decided to support TRS to defeat
BJP and also for development in the constituency. He appealed to CPI supporters to back the TRS candidate.
Reddy and the CM hoped CPM will also extend its support. The CM also assured that the issues and problems in the constituency raised by CPI will be resolved.
KCR meanwhile said another large public meeting will be held in Chandur in the constituency once Election Commission of India (ECI) announces the byelection schedule. If another one is organised, it will be the first time two big public meetings are held for a byelection.
Contrary to expectations, the CM did not announce any sops to Munugode in the meeting. He listed out the government's welfare schemes including Rythu Bandhu and Rythu Bima and how the TRS government made efforts to resolve fluoride issue in the constituency.
TRS is happy with the success of the meeting and the huge crowds. The pink party took the meeting as prestige point as it wants to show of strength ahead of the BJP meeting.
