Panaji: In a new development to the Ashtami fair issue, the Corporation of City of Panaji (CCP) on Friday started the process of distribution of forms afresh.
CCP commissioner Agnelo Fernandes said that the entire process has been streamlined and restarted. “A total of 450 stalls will be allotted afresh. Forms are being sold at Rs 200 each. We started on Friday,” he said.
The decision was taken following allegations by prospective vendors that the process was not transparent and that some forms were being sold “in black”.
Fernandes said some vendors took more forms and began selling them at a higher rate. Secondly, some of the vendors took more space than the allotted to them and even encroached on the footpath, he said.
