Kanpur: The details of the properties of Pakistani national Shahid Haleem have been sent by the district administration to the Enforcement Directorate (ED).
ED has been seeking the details for 13 years, officials said, adding that it wrote the first letter to the Custodian of Enemy Property in the year 2009. After this, ED sent three more letters to the authorities. The first letter was written in October 2009 by assistant director of ED VP Gogia, seeking a probe into these properties.
This letter was sent to India’s Custodian of Enemy Property, Dinesh Singh, in which the ED had sought information about the purchasers of Haleem’s property, documents of registries, names and addresses of the people living here, but the ED was not provided information then. Deepak Pal, in-charge Enemy Property, said here on Friday that the ED had sought information regarding 12 properties of Haleem. A report has been prepared and sent to the ED, he added. There are 13 properties of Haleem in the city which are being declared as enemy property. These properties were illegally disposed off after Haleem went to
Pakistan. The properties were sold without giving complete information to the people. The occupants of these properties also show property purchase registries. Facts have also come to the fore that Haleem sold these properties after going to Pakistan.
