AgenciesBritish horticulturist Monty Don, the much-loved presenter of the BBC programme Gardeners’ World, expressed his helplessness about the programme being shunted by BBC to a different slot but promised a fun time for all who see.
The programme has been shunted to 9:30 PM to accommodate other programmes much to the dismay of the viewers.
Monty Don, 67, has 271,000 followers on his Twitter handle and a few have complained about BBC’s rather uncaring attitude.
A fan wrote, “Down with shunting”. Carol, another fan, felt quite displeased about the show getting shifted to different slots every now and then but promises to be there to watch the programme.
Some complained about the number of viewers not getting their due respect as BBC customers.
Gardeners' World has been featured as a programme on BBC since 1968. The series that is being watched now and presented by Monty Don, is the 53rd series.
The first series presented by Ken Burras was broadcasted from Oxford Botanical Gardens. Right till 2020, the episodes were of 30 minutes duration and from then on the episodes were increased to an hour.
The programme runs throughout the year except November to February as they take a winter sabbatical.
Plenty of presenters along with Monty Don are part of the show. Adam Frost, Frances Tophill, Joe Swift and a few more are the other presenters of the popular show on BBC.
Monty also took to Twitter and assured his fans that even if the timings are changed, the show will be full of good things.
Keeping aside the new timing of the programme and its apparent discomfiture by the viewers, fans were ecstatic about Monty getting a granddaughter.
Fans were quick to congratulate Monty and one fan even joked about swapping a few of Monty’s choice fuchsia flowers for a pair of daughters!
The popular gardener seems very happy about the extension of his family with a grandson or granddaughter once in a while. “Another gardener in the making” reacted a fan in a congratulatory tone.
