Ludhiana: Juvenile among two arrested for farmer's murder

LUDHIANA: Two days after a 40-year-old farmer went missing, Payal police, on Thursday night, arrested two persons, including a juvenile, for murder.
The arrested accused are Lovepreet, 22, of Dhamote Kalan and the 17-year-old juvenile, who is a resident of another village.
On the evening of August 16, farmer Jagdev Singh, also of Dhamote Kalan, had gone missing under mysterious circumstances from his field near Sirhind canal. Police had registered a case under section 364 (kidnapping or abducting in order to murder) of the IPC and found blood stains on a wooden block and on the way to the canal.
Payal deputy superintendent of police Harsimrat Singh said, "After registering the kidnapping case, we started looking for Jagdev. His body was recovered from the canal near Jagera late on Wednesday afternoon."
