AURANGABAD: A known loyalist of Thackeray family and the district president of Shiv Sena, Narendra Trivedi, has switched over to the Eknath Shinde camp.
Trivedi is among the first shakha pramukhs appointed by the Shiv Sena in 1986 in Aurangabad. The development is likely to dent the chances of Sena in the assembly constituencies of Sillod, Phulambri and Paithan.
He was one of the two district presidents of the party and held charge of the three assembly constituencies. When contacted, Trivedi said, "The injustice being done to me, has compelled me to switch to Shinde camp. I have selflessly worked for over 36 years and never asked for any post or ticket but MLC Ambadas Danve, who is also a district president, is trying to sideline party's true loyalists in the district."
He said that Danve has been simultaneously holding the posts of district president, party spokesperson, MLC and now leader of opposition in legislative council. "Danve has been successful in preventing loyal workers from becoming successful leaders in the district," said Trivedi.
