Uttar Pradesh: Four held for stripping, thrashing youth in Gonda after video goes viral

LUCKNOW: Two days after a video of a youth being stripped and thrashed mercilessly in Uttar Pradesh's Gonda went viral on social media, four persons were arrested on Saturday. The incident took place at Mankapur area under Kotwali police station.
The accused have been identified as Utkarsh, Ankit, Baba and Akash. In the viral video, they can be seen stripping and thrashing the youth with sticks.
Superintendent of police, Gonda, Akash Tomar, said that prima facie it has come to fore that victim, identified as Nishant Pandey (19), was a student of Industrial Training Institute (ITI) in Mankapur.
"The victim kept talking to daughter of local pradhan, who was his junior in the institute, despite being warned, following which he was attacked" said Tomar.
