Goa’s Har Ghar Jal certification a farce, wrong claim by CM: Cong

Canacona: Goa Pradesh Congress Committee general secretary Janardhan Bhandari said that Goa’s certification as a ‘Har Ghar Jal’ state was incorrect, and blamed chief minister Pramod Sawant for making wrong claims.
“Barring Canacona municipality, none of the seven village panchayats of Canacona taluka has tap connections in entirety,” Bhandari said.
Gaondongorim and Cotigao villages do not even have tap water facilities in 50% of the homes, he said.
Similar is the situation in the villages of Poinguinim, Loliem-Polem, Shristhal, and Agonda, where several households lack tap water.
Goa’s certification, Bhandari said “was a farce, and far from ground reality”.
Most of the households that have tap connections, he said, have not seen water flowing through the pipelines, said Bhandari.
