HYDERABAD: Political heat is set to go a few notches high in Munugode from Saturday with top leaders converging for rallies.
While CM K Chandrasekhar Rao is addressing a public meeting in Munugode on Saturday, Congress is launching a 100-day campaign with 175 of its leaders hitting the hustings. Close on their heels, the
BJP is going all out to make Union home minister
Amit Shah's public meeting on Sunday a grand success.
The CM is expected to shower sops on Munugode and sanction a government junior college, a degree college and a 100-bed government hospital. The TRS is making efforts to mobilise at least one lakh people from seven mandals of the bypoll-bound constituency.
Much before the
Election Commission of India will announce the poll schedule for Munugode, it's going to be a 'super Saturday' in the assembly constituency.
Political heat is set to go up with top leaders converging for rallies. To begin with, TRS president and chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao is addressing a public meeting in Munugode on Saturday, while Congress is launching a 100-day campaign with 175 of its leaders hitting the hustings. Close on their heels, BJP is working to make Union home minister Amit Shah's public meeting on Sunday a success.
The CM is expected to shower projects and sops on Munugode and sanction a government junior college, a degree college and a 100-bed government hospital. The ruling party is making efforts to mobilise at least one lakh people from seven mandals of the bypoll-bound constituency. The BJP is trying to outshine the TRS by getting more crowds.
TRS leaders did not rule out the possibility of KCR announcing the party candidate for the bypoll from the dais of the public meeting. The ruling party has been facing rumblings from dissidents with local leaders opposing the candidature of former MLA Kusukuntla Prabhakar Reddy.
Taking the bypoll as a prestige, KCR is personally monitoring the bypoll strategy. TRS leaders from Nalgonda district have submitted a report to KCR on the long-pending demands of the people of Munugode. KCR is expected to go by road to the public meeting venue, which is about 70km from Hyderabad, and return by road in the evening.
Even the venues of public meetings of TRS and BJP are not far away. The distance between the two venues is hardly 2 km as both the meetings are being held in and around Munugode town.
Telangana Congress president A Revanth Reddy, who has recovered from Covid-19, will be leading the 175-member team, including Bhatti Vikramarka, N Uttam Kumar Reddy, K Jana Reddy, among others, with each one visiting one village to celebrate the birth anniversary of former prime minister Rajiv Gandhi with villagers, distribute fruits and interact with the voters in all the 175 villages.
Though Congress star campaigner Komatireddy Venkat Reddy has been named in the 175-member list, it is yet to be confirmed whether he will participate or not.
