Success story of Coimbatore should be emulated: K’taka CM

Coimbatore: Karnataka chief minister said the success stories of Coimbatore and Tirupur, the hub of pumps and motors and of knitwear garments, respectively, should be emulated. Similarly, Bengaluru should be emulated for the success of IT, he said while speaking at the centenary year function of industrialist G Ramaswamy Naidu, in the city on Thursday. He unveiled the statue of the the founder of Suguna Industries Ramasamy Naidu during the function.
“Coimbatore is a unique place. It is at the centre of Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Karnataka. Coimbatore people are very enterprising as every home is an industry here,” he said. “Tirupur city is famous for textile and Coimbatore for pumps. Likewise, each city has its own economic characteristics and we must recognize such cities and encourage them,” Bommai said.
“The hard work of Ramasamy Naidu should be an inspiration to youngsters, who are the future of the country, to make it number-one nation in the world in the next 25 years,” he added. “I was advised by Ramasamy Naidu that I should not influence anyone by using my father’s name and I should grow independently,” he added.
