Small ship boutique cruise line Windstar Cruises has announced new revisions to its COVID-19 protocols.

Starting September 6, 2022, Windstar will no longer require a negative COVID-19 result for guests to sail aboard its ships.

This applies to all itineraries except for those that visit destinations that are still requiring a negative test to visit, including Canada, Greece, Australia, and New Zealand.

As part of its continued Beyond Ordinary Care health and safety program, Windstar Cruises still requires that all passengers are fully vaccinated and provide proof of their inoculation.

Windstar Cruises operates six all-suite and sailing yachts that carry 148 to 342 guests each. The line offers voyages throughout Europe, the Caribbean, Costa Rica and the Panama Canal, Asia, Alaska and British Columbia, Canada and New England, the South Pacific, Mexico, the coastal U.S., and Australia.

Three of Windstar’s Star Plus Class yachts (Star Breeze, Star Legend, and Star Pride) recently emerged from a $250 million renovation program which added new suites, restaurants, and a spa and fitness center.

Windstar is just another in a long list of cruise lines that have been dropping their pre-cruise testing requirements.

Recently, Carnival Cruise Line, Norwegian Cruise Line, Holland America Line, Viking, Seabourn, Princess Cruises, and more all eliminated their pre-cruise testing requirements on most sailings for vaccinated passengers.

Many cruise lines are also ditching their vaccine requirements for most itineraries. These include Holland America Line, Norwegian Cruise Line, Princess Cruises, Oceania Cruises, Carnival Cruise Line, Seabourn, and more.
