MYSURU: Chamarajanagar police on Thursday arrested two youngsters for being in possession of tiger claws.
Yasir Arafat and Parhad-Ur-Rehman, residents of Chamarajanagar town, are currently in custody of the district police, who are contemplating transferring the case to the forest department.
Police are yet to ascertain how the duo managed to obtain the tiger claws. Both Arafat and Rehman are reportedly being tight-lipped about their sources. Officers in the Cybercrime, Economics and Narcotics (CEN) wing said that they had confiscated eight claws from the accused. With the two arrested youngsters yet to divulge the source from whom they got the contraband, the investigators will focus on extracting this crucial piece of information.
A police officer involved in the investigation revealed that they caught the duo while probing the illegal sale of marijuana. Police sources said that the duo has no criminal antecedents, and possibility of any past association with miscreants would be verified.
