Synopsis

Elden ring was released in February and took the world by storm. The game is enjoying a healthy player count and has shown a surprisingly higher staying power for a game that is a single-player title. It has brought in enormous profits for Bandai Namco.

The financial results of Bandai Namco were released yesterday. It showed how much the Elden Ring has been profitable for the company as 16.6 million copies of the video game were sold till June this year. Elden Ring contributed to a whopping 55 per cent year-on-year profit increase. The number keeps increasing and doesn't stop as more copies are sold worldwide.

However, Bandai Namco is realistic despite the huge sales and the good news. Namco forecasts an overall profit decrease of 24.5 per cent for this financial year. This is because no other big names will release during this tenure. It does not surprise that video game sales are down worldwide due to various factors, including economic instability.

Bandai Namco's financial report did not mention any plans, unfortunately. FromSoftware has many games under development and includes a nearly completed game. Another good news is that Elden Ring DLC is also likely to launch. However, no further details are available about these projects.

FromSoftware is famous because of its Souls games. However, it used to make many other diverse segments of games.

UK PM Elections

Boris Johson resigned on July 7 as the leader of the Conservative Party and prime minister of the UK. He was faced with a flurry of resignations over alleged scandals. These allegations included sexual misconduct and parties held during the Covid lockdown. This change has prompted an election within the Conservative Party.

One of these games was the Armored Core series. The game was completely different from the Elden Ring regarding the subject matter.

Many people would agree that there has not been a mecha game as good as Gundam Breaker 3 recently, and FromSoftware has the chance to create its reboot. It will also help the studio from being type casted as making only Souls games.
