Panaji: The registrar's office has found two solutions to tackle the workload leading to pendency of online approvals and registrations at Mapusa sub-registrar office.
“We have two solutions to the problem and expect to get the government's approval by Monday or Tuesday. Even before the advocates protested we had discussed the problems with the two registrars at Mapusa,” a senior official said.
Bardez lawyers have claimed that around 400 files are pending for online approval and registration of property documents. The lawyers threatened to boycott their work at the Mapusa sub-registrar's office if the delays in the online approvals and registration of property documents did not end.
Without wanting to reveal how they will address the problem, the officer said they have found the solution after examining the issue.
The Mapusa sub-registrar’s office has two sub-registrars and between them they approve 15 to 25 documents each day, but on a day when there are fewer visitors, up to 30 documents are cleared.
Some lawyers, he said, uploaded four to five documents of the same draft. A sub-registrar has to go through every document before approving.
