Woman booked for abetting suicide

Thane: Kalwa police on Thursday booked a woman for abetting suicide of a 26-year-old man who hung himself. The police said that the deceased has been identified as Vikram More, a resident from Kalwa. On Tuesday, his body was found hanging with a stole from the ceiling fan of his house. Subsequently, his reported the incident to Kalwa police.
The next day, the complainant while frisking some tins in the kitchen found a suicide note not specifically stating the reason for the suicide, said a police officer privy to the probe. The note said that he was in debt as there was a woman in the neighbourhood who had taken money from him multiple times. When he asked for his money, the accused woman threatened to complain to the police and even verbally abused him, said a police officer quoting the complaint.
“We are investigating the case from all angles and certain things related to finances mentioned in the note will be substantiated with the evidences,” the police officer said.
