New Delhi: More than 50 people were injured after three bogies of a train derailed following a collision between a goods train and the passenger train in Maharashtra's Gondia in the wee hours of Wednesday.

Officials said the collision between the goods train and the passenger train Bhagat ki Kothi took place due to non-receipt of signal. However, no casualty was reported in the accident, they added.

The train was on its way from Chhattisgarh's Bilaspur to Jodhpur in Rajasthan, officials said, adding that the efforts to restore traffic on the route are on.

According to reports, the injured are being treated at local government and private hospitals.
