Stock market update: Nifty Bank index advances 0.21% in an upbeat market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Bank index traded positive around 11:00AM(IST)on Wednesday in an upbeat market.

Bandhan Bank(up 1.93 per cent), IDFCBANK(up 0.67 per cent), Bank of Baroda(up 0.66 per cent), AU Small Finance Bank(up 0.66 per cent) and Axis Bank(up 0.63 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Federal Bank(down 0.72 per cent), Kotak Mahindra Bank(down 0.41 per cent), Punjab National Bank(down 0.15 per cent) and State Bank of India(down 0.11 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Bank index was up 0.21 per cent at 39323.25 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 93.3 points at 17918.55, while the BSE Sensex was up 316.39 points at 60158.6.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 38 were trading in the green, while 12 were in the red.

Shares of YES Bank, Zomato Ltd., , Tata Steel and were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of S Chand & Co, Nava Bharat Vent., , and hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while , , , and hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
