Jharkhand: Man assaulted by friends for not hosting party, dies

DUMKA: A day after allegedly being beaten by his friends for refusing them a feast, a man on Tuesday died during treatment at the Phulo Jhano Medical College and Hospital.
Sources said the deceased, identified as Sashi Sah (23), was a resident of Bandarjori Mohalla under Town police station area and hailed from a humble background.
Vishnu, the younger brother of the deceased, said Sashi was called by his friends from home on Monday evening but was brought back by a few friends with grievous injuries. “We rushed him to hospital after his condition deteriorated in the early hours of Tuesday, but he died. My brother had recently returned from Delhi, where he worked in a private firm for a month.” He claimed that Sashi had told them that he was severely assaulted by his friends for not organising a party for them. tnn
