ReutersNEW DELHI: The Nifty Pharma index closed on a positive note on Wednesday.
Shares of Glenmark Pharmaceuticals(up 3.62 per cent), Granules India(up 3.38 per cent), Strides Pharma Science(up 2.53 per cent), Laurus(up 2.36 per cent) and Gland Pharma(up 1.36 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Torrent Pharmaceuticals(down 1.02 per cent), Cipla(down 0.85 per cent), Aurobindo Pharma(down 0.7 per cent), Ipca Laboratories(down 0.66 per cent) and Natco Pharma(down 0.6 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Pharma index closed 0.35 per cent up at 12979.25.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 119.0 points at 17944.25, while the BSE Sensex stood up 417.92 points at 60260.13.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 34 ended in the green, while 16 closed in the red.
Shares of Zomato Ltd., YES Bank, , Tata Steel and were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Nava Bharat Vent., S Chand & Co, , and NDTV hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while , , , and Vipul Ltd hit their fresh 52-week lows.
