Ex-ADM, son get life terms in dowry death case

Ranchi: A court here sentenced a former additional district magistrate, Ahmad Hussain, and his younger son, Andalib Ahmad, to life imprisonment in connection with a dowry death case. The court sentenced them under Section 302 of the IPC and also imposed a fine of Rs 50,000 each on them. Ahmad’s elder son, Aftab Ahmad and husband of the victim, was, however, acquitted by the court. The victim’s father had complained with the Doranda police station on July 13, 2017, alleging that Aftab and Andalib murdered his daughter for failing to meet an additional demand of Rs 15 lakh as dowry.
