VARANASI: A 35-year-old woman killed her three children after tiff with her husband in Uttar Pradesh's Dhadhani Bhanmal Rai village under Suhval police station in Ghazipur district on Monday.
The woman reportedly poisoned the children, who died during the treatment. The accused woman has been identified as Sunita Yadav.
“The woman had been arrested. We have lodged a murder case against her. She had poisoned her three children, who died during the course of treatment. The bodies had been sent for postmortem examination. Sunita had given poison to her children after a quarrel with her husband,” said SP Ghazipur Rohan P Botre.
During initial investigation of police it came to light that Sunita was married to Baleshwar Yadav of Sayitbandh area under the limits of Revatipur police station. The couple had three children including two sons- Bubby alias Himanshu (11), Priyanshu alias Piyush (8) and a daughter Divyanshi (7). Sunita was at her parents place in Dhadhani Bhanmal Rai village to celebrate Rakshabandhan with her brothers.
On August 13, she talked to her husband and brother-in-law and they exchanged heated words. After that an upset Sunita poisoned her three children on Monday morning. When the condition of children started deteriorating Sunita’s brothers and their family members rushed the trio to district hospital where Priyanshu was declared dead by doctors.
The other two children were referred to Varanasi in view of their critical condition. However, they also died during the course of treatment.
SO Suhval Taramati Yadav said that the woman was taken under custody for interrogation. Later, she was arrested.
