On the occasion of Independence Day, the makers of Ishaan Khatter and Mrunal Thakur's war drama Pippa released a teaser and confirmed the film's release date. Raja Krishna Menon is well known for duecting Akshay Kumar-starrer Airlift. Pippa, which was originally slated to be released on December 9, will now be released a week earlier on December 2. Pippa is based on Brigadier Balram Singh Mehta's novel 'The Burning Chaffees,' and the script is by Ravinder Randhawa, Tanmay Mohan, and Menon.

The film's plot chronicles the lives of three siblings during the Battle of Garibpur. It happened in eastern India During the Indo-Pakistan War of 1971. The trailer also shows actress Soni Razdan and Mrunal, who play Ishaan's mother and sibling, respectively. The powerful clip has troops yelling the traditional war cry, "Joy Bangla."


Ronnie Screwvala's RSVP and Siddharth Roy Kapur's Roy Kapur Films are producing Pippa.

"Pippa, set in 1971 against the backdrop of one of the greatest refugee movements in modern history, which subsequently led to the freedom and foundation of a country, is a narrative that must be told, and we can't wait to unravel the scope of this epic movie to viewers worldwide," Screwvala said.
