Covid-19 admissions in the city hit a 45-day high as over 60 people got hospitalised after testing positive for the viral infection.
This is even as detection of new cases remained low on Monday due to fewer tests carried out over the weekend. The city reported 584 cases on Monday, a significant drop from the 800-plus detections in the previous five days; 62 people got hospitalised, of which 14 needed oxygen support.
Almost 320 people are currently undergoing treatment for Covid in various hospitals. A civic official said 16 people are currently on ventilator. However, despite the admissions, bed occupancy is less than 2%.
