Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index advances 0.54% in an upbeat market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Pharma index traded positive around 11:00AM(IST)on Tuesday in an upbeat market.

Zydus Lifesciences(up 2.37 per cent), Torrent Pharmaceuticals(up 2.2 per cent), Abbott India(up 1.96 per cent), Granules India(up 1.95 per cent) and Alembic Pharmaceuticals(up 1.56 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Lupin(down 1.05 per cent), Gland Pharma(down 0.8 per cent), Glenmark Pharmaceuticals(down 0.55 per cent), Aurobindo Pharma(down 0.52 per cent) and Strides Pharma Science(down 0.43 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Pharma index was up 0.54 per cent at 12933.5 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 134.4 points at 17832.55, while the BSE Sensex was up 441.41 points at 59904.19.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 42 were trading in the green, while 7 were in the red.

Shares of Zomato Ltd., YES Bank, Tata Steel, JP Power and were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Arman Financial, KPI Global Infra, Bharat Wire Ropes, and Ltd. hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while , SVP Global, Ltd., Birla Tyres and hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
