Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad on Tuesday resigned from the post of the head of the Jammu and Kashmir Congress campaign committee hours after being appointed.
Citing health reasons, Ghulam Nabi Azad declined to take charge of new responsibility, as per the sources.
The Congress campaign committee was newly constituted on Tuesday. The campaign committee comprises 11 leaders with the PCC president and working president its permanent invitees.
Tariq Hamid Karra was appointed as the vice chairman of the campaign committee while G M Saroori was the convenor.

Meanwhile, in a major shake-up of its Jammu and Kashmir unit, the Congress on Tuesday appointed Vikar Rasool Wani as the party's J&K chief.
Congress President Sonia Gandhi has accepted the resignation of Ghulam Ahmed Mir from the post of president, the Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee.
Sonia Gandhi on Tuesday appointed president and working president of the J&K unit and also constituted the campaign committee, political affairs committee, coordination committee, manifesto committee, publicity and publication committee, disciplinary committee and Pradesh election committee of Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) with immediate effect.
While Wani was appointed president of the J&K unit, Raman Bhalla was named the party's working president in the Union Territory.
