BENGALURU: A 33-year-old software engineer hoisting the national flag on the second-floor terrace of the building where he lived fell to his death in Hennur here on Sunday. Vishwas Kumar, the only son of Narayan Bhat, a priest from Sullia in Dakshina Kannada and employed with a private tech company in Bhartiya City, went to the terrace of his building in V Block, HBR Layout, Hennur, to hoist the tricolour.
Vishwas lived on the ground floor of the two-floor building. Vishwas Kumar lived on the ground floor with his wife Vyshali and their two-year-old daughter and his parents.
Around 1.45pm, Vishwas climbed the parapet wall of the terrace to tie the flag to a pole when he accidentally slipped and fell to the ground. "Narayan Bhat and Vyshali shifted him to Sagar Apollo Hospital. However, he succumbed to the head injuries around 5pm," Hennur police said.
