Kanpur: The family of the suspected terrorist Habibul
Islam alias Saifullah, who was caught by UP ATS from Kanpur, originally belongs to Ramgadwa village in Motihari district of Bihar.
According to the investigators, his father Zafrul had migrated from Bihar to Fatehpur about 25 years ago.
Zafrul started living on rent in Madrasa Islamia building located in Syedwada locality of the district (Fatehpur). Later, he got a job as a teacher in the same institution.
Zafrul told media persons that he wanted his son Habibul to also choose a teacher’s job, but he was not interested in pursuing higher education. "Of his four sons, he is his third son who was born in Fatehpur”.
“I was stunned when on Sunday at around 7.15 am, I received a call from Lucknow wherein Ie was informed by the ATS sleuths that my son has been apprehended from Kanpur for suspected terror related activities”, he added.
He said that after pursuing Hafiz course, he got Habibul admitted to a madrassa in Etawah in 2018, but he left studies midway. Then, he got him enrolled in a madrassa in Pratapgarh district but from there also he ran away.
After coming across his suspicious activities, he threw him out of the house in May 2022, Zafrul further said.
"Three days ago, I came to know from locals of Nai Basti Eidgah that Habibul was caught by some people, who were in plain clothes," he said.
Inspector Kotwali Amit Kumar Mishra said that inputs regarding Saifullah had been collected from his family members and provided to the senior officials.
